SkillDiscs is operated from Germany. We therefore review copyright and illegal-content complaints first under German law, especially UrhG, UrhDaG and DDG/DSA notice routes. EU rules and US/DMCA notices are handled where applicable as supplemental routes. We respond to valid notices within 48 hours. Submit a notice using the form at the bottom of this page.

What we publish vs. what stays private

  • Public Disks (URL or YouTube source, owner opted in to publish): we expose only AI-generated summaries, key questions, and a cover image. The original article text or video transcript is not included on the public page.
  • Private Disks (PDF or pasted text, or any URL/YouTube the owner kept private): visible only to the owner. PDFs and pasted text cannot be made public on SkillDiscs at all (a database constraint enforces this).
  • REST API: returns the original verbatim text only when the same authenticated owner reads their own private Disk. Public / saved-from-other-users Disks return only AI summaries, key points, and bounded ≤200-character snippets — never the full source.
  • URL ingestion respects machine-readable opt-out signals: robots.txt, /ai.txt, and <meta name="robots" content="noai|notdm"> tags. If a site has opted out, ingestion is refused with an HTTP 451 response.
  • Audit log: every ingestion (success or block) writes one row to our ingestion_log with source URL, timestamp, robots-decision, and content hash — so we can trace and remove every Disk derived from any specific source URL on a takedown.

AI-generated content disclosure (EU AI Act Art. 50)

Summaries, key questions, recall quizzes, and cover images on SkillDiscs are produced by Google's Gemini family of large language models. We label these outputs as AI-generated on the public page and via an ai_generated: true field on every API response. Downstream API consumers must continue to label re-published content as AI-generated per Art. 50.

Counter-notification

If you believe your content was removed in error, reply to the takedown confirmation email with a counter-notice including the same identifying information plus your physical or electronic signature and a good-faith explanation. For Germany-based processing, we review counter-notices under the competent German procedure and courts. If your notice is expressly a US/DMCA notice, we may also request the additional declarations required by 17 U.S.C. § 512.

Direct contact

For takedown requests prefer the form below (faster routing). For all other legal correspondence: hung@theaiwhisperer.de.

Submit a takedown notice

Submitting false notices may expose you to liability under German civil law, UrhDaG and, for US/DMCA notices, 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
